After slogging it out with the Deadly Electronics team and arguing with them over the fact that they are totally incompetent because they can not EVER fulfill there release dates.... and even though the team made a 'set in stone' promise that the game would definitely and absolutely be released in December 2007 WITHOUT a doubt.. I would receive great pleasure in telling ALL of the team a big fat 'TOLD YOU SO!!!' I could also take this opportunity to absolutely destroy and annihilate them with all of the evidence supporting my claim - and with the new announcement actually PROVES that what I have previously said has all been true.
Instead, I'm not going to do any of the above.
Here are some valuable lessons I hope Deadly Electronics have learnt by now:
1. NEVER give release dates for ANYTHING (i.e. website updates, demo's, pictures, videos etc.) You brake more promises, than fufill them. (Again, I could give numerous examples on how this has previously been done.) Just release stuff AFTER it has been finished and ready to be published.
2. DONT MAKE PROMISES (see above)
3. DONT tell people what you think they want to hear, and then backtrack on your word. This does you absolutely NO FAVOURS whatsoever. (Scenario example - the fans are wanting a demo, you say a demo will be released within a week, 5 weeks later you announce no demo will be released because of..... insert next lame excuse here. )
4. DON'T charge people to be part of a fanclub. (An oldie - but still a very valid point.)
5. DON'T be pissed off when people slag you off when you DO all of the above. (Duh?!?)
6. TAKE responsibility for your mistakes. (When you blame lack of updates through 'server' problems, or 'technical' problems - people can see straight through these excuses. You get a hell of a lot more respect if your just HONEST and UPFRONT with the fans.)
I can appreciate the fact you guys are an amateur development team (no disrespect) but the fact your wanting to take on more 'corporate' ventures (http://deadlyelectronics.net/v3/service.html) means you guys still have a LOT to learn - not just about implementing software but delivering a COMPENTANT service to your clients (which means MEETING DEADLINES and making sure the whole team knows what is going off and not always contradicting each other.)
You are really annoying! That can ever happen! Please... Shut up!

I think we all should should start dishing some serious squad beatings on here and kick their asses in to shape!! 2007 is over - and still absolutely no progress.
